You have to agree, seeing the Fashion’s Night Out site live and ready for the public is the best way to start the work week. FNO turns four this year and along with the rest of the nation – over 500 cities are planning to participate – we’re ready to celebrate. As September 6 quickly approaches, the final touches are being placed on events, limited-edition products and special appearances and performances that will all culminate in one big street party dedicated to fashion.
The site, fashionsnightout.com, is jam-packed with everything related to FNO – from event listings to the FNO Collection – where designers, retailers, and those planning to attend can map out the night to the last detail. A new FNO Collection is designed each year to celebrate the event and a portion of the proceeds from the sales benefit the New York City AIDS Fund in the NY Community Trust.
Here are some of this year’s events planned to take place in Manhattan:
Bergdorf Goodman is celebrating its 111th anniversary during FNO with designers Lela Rose, Michael Bastian, Naeem Khan, Rachel Zoe, and Thakoon.
Designer appearances at Saks Fifth Avenue include Rebecca Minkoff and Oscar de la Renta who will be launching his new fragrance Essential Luxuries.
Not to be out-shined, Lord & Taylor is sure to cause a stir in the streets as they welcome Kim Kardashian to meet fans who purchased her True Reflection fragrance. Max, Lubov and Joyce Azria, Jill Zarin, and Kristi Yamaguchi are also scheduled to round out the night for L&T.
We’ll be sure to keep you posted as more event details are released and as our own plans for FNO unfold.
FNO is collaboration between American Vogue, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, NYC & Company and the City of New York.
