King of fashion, master of eveningwear and ready to wear, Designer of the Year Award recipient, accessories aficionado … Michael Kors boasts many titles. As of this month, he is pleased to add one more to his repertoire: digital dignitary.
Kors has recently launched a new digital initiative consisting of videos that will take viewers into the designer-laden closets of three Michael Kors employees. The series, entitled “Living the Kors Life”, will give a glimpse into their personal styles by way of the MK social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, and Weibo.
“I have always loved seeing the way so many chic women with very different lives and styles wear my designs,” Kors said in a statement. “When I thought about how, now as a global brand, we could communicate an understanding of the scope of women who are very ‘Michael Kors’, I took one look around my office and said, let’s start right here!”
And start right there he did! While the overhaul of the brand’s digital arm was officially launched last year, the first YouTube video, released on June 11th, follows PR Coordinator Savannah, a Southern sorority girl turned sleek professional. As she dresses for a day at the office, Savannah reveals her fashion fearlessness as she rocks some of her favorite ensembles including a ball skirt (with a t-shirt of course) and head-to-toe cheetah print with turquoise python heels. Killin’ it!
The video series, which will run through August, gives a detailed look at each of the style mavens and the inside scoop on everything they’re obsessed with, from favorite cafés to secret vacation escapes to the most cherished items in their closets.
Get your credit cards ready because the brands e-commerce segment will promote new and featured styles, along with clickable “Get Her Look” sidebars which allow viewers to shop each woman’s wardrobe.
“Especially as this series expands,” Kors explains, “it will continue to serve to prove one of the fundamental ideas on which I’ve built my company—that everything I design has to play as well to women in Singapore as it does to women in Chicago. ‘Living The Kors Life’ will really drive home this reality.”
