Meet Gerardo – UX Designer and Branding Professional
1. What is your favorite part of your job?
Creating projects from scratch. My favorite part is when nothing is defined – everything is just a loose concept. This allows the creative juices to invent things and come up with solutions that are not yet defined.
2. Who/What inspires you?
I’m inspired by anyone who is willing to take risks – from an employee quitting his/her job to create or join a start-up to an owner or ceo of a large company who is willing to change old ways. However, my biggest inspiration of history was the decision by man to go to the moon. It’s a totally insane project if you take into consideration what was created with the technology in the sixties. Every time I start a new project that I think is too difficult, I compare it with this and I’m inspired.
3. How did you get into your current career?
I guess I was lucky enough to have parents that never discouraged my burning desire to keep drawing (non-stop). They kept feeding me with canvases and colors and later with computers and tablets; no one told me to stop, so I never did. Nowadays, I draw with code and things just get more and more interesting. The best part is that I can make a living out of doing what I love. I guess I never considered any other career as an option, and I’m glad about it.
