JBCSpotlight: Meet Haley A.

JBCSpotlight: Meet Haley A.

Name: Haley Appelbaum

Title: Talent Acquisition Specialist

Location: The Big Apple

Recruiting specialty: Anything in the Active Lifestyle world

I became a recruiter because … it’s a great way to interact with people who have similar interests.

Favorite designer: Tom Ford

Celebrity crush: Paul Rudd

Favorite place in NYC: Central Park – nothing more refreshing than escaping the street noise.

Interview horror story:  Thankfully, I have not had one yet, but I’m sure this answer will change as I continue to grow as a Recruiter.

Best interview tip: Be honest – just make sure it’s done in a professional manner.  Be conscious of what you say and how you say it, but give us enough to understand what your current concerns or frustrations are in your current role, or a role presented to you.

Favorite accessory: My gold dipped tea leaf from a flea market in Sydney, Australia – I wear it almost every day.

If I could be an animal I would be … a semi-aquatic animal such as a Polar Bear or Hippopotamus – they get to live on land and in water…best of both worlds!

Dream vacation: For a cultural vacation, Greece.  For a relaxing vacation, Bali.

Sweet or salty: Chocolate covered bacon…don’t knock it till ya try it!

In my spare time I … work part-time at Madison Square Garden, hang out with friends, read, go to concerts and sporting events!

Fashion or Beauty Tip: Less is more.  And moisturize daily!

Favorite item in my closet:  Toss-up between my 1988 New York Giants Starter Jacket and my Red Suede Orlan T-Strap Louboutins.

Restaurant I would recommend: Jack’s Wife Freda in Soho, or Crave in Midtown East

Favorite music artist/band: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jay-Z, Missy Higgins, John Butler Trio, The Black Keys, and Mumford & Sons

Favorite quote: “It’s good for your soul to invest in something you can’t control.” –Jimmy Fallon, Fever Pitch

“Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.” – Neale Donald Walsch
