A citrus-y pallet of pale yellow, peach and purple commanded the runway at Bottega Veneta’s Resort 2013 show.
While the subdued hues of Tomas Maier’s pieces lacked the vibrancy of other cruise collections, the brilliance of this assortment lay in the details.
From the delicate floral pattern seen in the day to night dress shown above to the use of a simple cardigan or overcoat to complete the look, Maier’s designs were all about the little things.
Maier has said he likes to create clothing that is adult while still capturing youthfulness; and for resort he also successfully captured the youth of Bottega Veneta by incorporating materials and designs from the Italian house’s archives.
While patterns were in full bloom, Maier made certain he added a few sleek pieces to the assortment. Among our favorites were the form-fitting black dress, perfect for boardroom dominance and the floor length frock, sure to light up the night regardless of one’s evening plans.
Bottega Veneta’s Resort 2013 may seem a bit simplistic to some, but its classic lines and smart use of interchangeable pieces make it a sure bet for any fashionable, yet practical woman.
