JBCStyle’s active lifestyle division, JBCActive, is run by Director of Active Lifestyle Recruitment, Mike Machanic.  On multiple occasions throughout the year, you can find Mike infiltrating a variety of industry-related trade shows in search of a combination of things.

Not only is he meeting fellow action sports enthusiasts, he is ensuring that our JBCActive department is current and up to speed with every new brand, collection, innovation, technology and trend so that we can offer our clients and candidates the best of the best in staffing and recruiting.

First stop – Long Beach, California for the Agenda Trade Show

The Agenda Trade Show occurs in Long Beach, CA, New York, NY and Tokyo, Japan and boasts a list of exhibitors consisting of streetwear and action sports brands.  Agenda welcomes fledgling lines looking to stake their claim on the exploding industry and also features the established brands who represent longevity and a solid consumer following.  As the event to attend for buyers, distributors, members of the press, manufacturers, suppliers and more, Agenda fuses style, art, music and culture to ensure everyone reaps the full experience.

Final stop - Salt Lake City, Utah for the Outdoor Retailer Tradeshow

The Outdoor Retailer Tradeshow takes place twice a year for the summer and winter markets.  As the world’s largest outdoor sports industry gathering in the world, Mike found himself in the company of over 1,000 brands, buyers and retailers in the active outdoor lifestyle business.  This year, attendees were given the chance to take part in a number of events geared towards the action sports industry.  Hosted by Open Air Demo, events included: Paddle Zone, Tent City on the Grass, Endurance Zone, and more.
