The Golden Globes Awards aired last night and set the standard for the rest of the year in awards shows.
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hosted, and though they both lost the award for best actress in a TV comedy series to Girls’ star Lena Dunham, they kept the laughs going from beginning to end.
As expected, “Argo” won for best drama, “Les Miserables” won for best musical or comedy, and Anne Hathaway won best supporting actress for her role in “Les Miserables.”
Unexpectedly, Bill Clinton made an appearance to introduce Steven Spielberg’s “Lincoln,” which was nominated for best drama. Equally surprising was Jodie Foster’s sincerely, revealing speech after accepting the Cecil B. DeMille award.
