Proenza Schouler Boys Put Down Roots in NYC

Our favorite boys, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, of Proenza Schouler are finally investing in a brick and mortar location in New York City.  The designers are well know as the Parsons School of Design students who had their entire senior collection picked up by Barneys New York.  Can we say “fashion student dream come true?”

They’ve been going strong for ten years with one successful collection after the other.  The PS1 bag is one of the newest “it” bags and not to mention, an office favorite.

Today, they opened the doors to a 2,000-square-foot space at 822 Madison Avenue.  The location is ideal as they will be in the same neighborhood as Chanel, Dolce &  Gabbana and other such Upper East Side brands.  From the PS point of view, the location is also interesting because although their very “downtown,” “hipster” vibe is not typical of other UES stores, it still blends in nicely in terms of the customers they appeal to.

We’re on our way to check it out right now!  If you get a chance to stop by, let us know what you think.
